British Flowers
Over the past couple of weeks the garden seemed to linger hoping for one last burst of sunshine before sliding into its dormant phase. Just before total winter shutdown I cut an armful of foliage and flowers. Over at Common Farm Flowers … Continue reading

Barnes Fair
Barnes is a London Thameside backwater where you could be forgiven for thinking you’d just passed Miss Marple on the way to feed the ducks at the village pond. A typical village pub cross the road from the green and … Continue reading

Alkanet
Though a very thuggish plant I cant help celebrating the beautiful blue flowers of alkanet. The plant springs up all over the garden, once in it’s difficult to get rid of this pest. But in spite of this I cant … Continue reading

Location, Location, Location
Home, often a reflection of your style, is wherever you make it. This woodpecker was very noisily making home, in the most extraordinary place. Based on location, location, location, I’d put this down as a very gregarious and flamboyant bird.
