Barnes Fair

Barnes where there’s even a pub oposite the village pond

Barnes is a London Thameside backwater where you could be forgiven for thinking you’d just passed Miss Marple on the way to feed the ducks at the village pond.

A village of yesteryear where you might see Miss Marple off to feed the ducks

A typical village pub cross the road from the green and pond. It’s there the famous anual Barnes Fair is happening this weekend. A huge chattering throng of stalls selling all sorts of bric-a-brac, from fashion to home wear to jewelery to antiques. It’s the kind of place you might catch a glimpse of that white elephant as it heads off with it’s proud new owner.
