Psychiatrist Finds New Room Relaxing

The Chair

Psychiatrist loves to relax in new room designed by Soulfood Studio.

I loved designing a room for treating clients where they felt safe and calm.

The sofa

The palette is soft earthy naturals to wrap and ground and bring a feeling of calm. Clear and declutter the room then paint the walls and woodwork in warm neutrals. Make the space cosy enough to curl up in, with large comfortable sofas covered in a warm fudge colour soft velour fabric. Cushions in green and caramel shot silks, glossy velvets, some striped add a splash of colour and more texture.

Sanded and sealed floors can be ringy, keep the noise down and stop draughts with a deep pile chunky wool rug and creamy felty curtains at the bay window.

Get some naturals in

A bright sunny room so the lighting is simple, a pendant and table lamps to give a warm glow in the evening.  Keep the calm mood with the final layer of natural materials and organic shapes and unchallenging pictures of landscapes and plants.

Job done, environment designed to bring calm to all users.
